I have created a web-based communications channel to support the senior
games mission of helping adults aged 50+ to adopt healthy active
lifestyles. The program ultimately will pay for itself after about 6
months but requires an up front investment to get started. I am
currently working with Iowa and Washington State to prove out the
model. They are non-profits and run on sparse funding. The games are
highly popular (fun) which after talking with health institutions, this
environment provides a stronger impetus to learn and stay connected on
matters related to health, exercise and recreation. I would be
able to commit my time to making this happen with a grand between
$35,000 and $45,000.
The impact of this program will be a benefit to at least 35 states and
the millions of residents within each state that fall into this age
range.
With the impending health and obesity issues facing most (65%)
Americans, the support I can offer these states will ensure higher
awareness, participation and ongoing education to a now interested
audience.
My development period (timeframe I need to be funded) is between
September 2005 and February 2006. After that the income will come from
health-related sponsors.
